Egypt is a destination that has long captured the imagination of travelers worldwide. With its rich history, iconic landmarks, and stunning landscapes, it's no wonder that Egypt remains a top travel choice for those seeking adventure, culture, and unforgettable experiences. AccessFares CEO, Mark Lowery, recently returned from an incredible journey through Egypt, and we're excited to share the highlights of his trip, along with insider tips to help travel agents craft the perfect itinerary for their clients.

A Note from Mark Lowery

“Egypt is one of the most extraordinary countries I've had the privilege of visiting. From standing in awe of the Great Pyramids to drifting along the Nile, every moment felt like stepping into a living history book. The warmth of the people and the richness of the culture made this journey truly unforgettable. It’s a place where history and hospitality come together in the most remarkable way." - Mark Lowery, CEO

Must-See Attractions in Egypt

  1. The Great Pyramids of Giza

No trip to Egypt is complete without visiting the world-famous Pyramids of Giza. Located just outside Cairo, these ancient wonders are a testament to the incredible engineering skills of the ancient Egyptians. Be sure to visit the Sphinx nearby, another iconic symbol of Egypt. Pictured above is Mark in front of the Sphinx.

  2. The Egyptian Museum

For history buffs, the Egyptian Museum in Cairo is a must-visit. It houses the largest collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts, including the treasures of Tutankhamun’s tomb. Mark Lowery’s tip: take a guided tour to gain deeper insights into the history and significance of the items on display.

  3. Luxor: The Open-Air Museum

Luxor is often referred to as the world’s greatest open-air museum, and for good reason. The city is home to some of the most well-preserved monuments from ancient Egypt, including the Karnak Temple, the Valley of the Kings, and the Temple of Hatshepsut.

  4. The Red Sea Resorts

For a relaxing break, Egypt’s Red Sea coast offers some of the best beach resorts in the world. Places like Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada are famous for their crystal-clear waters, vibrant coral reefs, and world-class diving opportunities. Whether your clients enjoy snorkeling, diving, or simply lounging on the beach, these resorts are the perfect place to unwind after exploring the historical sites.

Insider Tips from Our CEO’s Trip

  1. Travel During the Off-Season

Our CEO’s trip was timed perfectly during the off-peak months of Egypt’s tourist season. This allowed for less crowded attractions and a more enjoyable experience. Travel agents should recommend visiting Egypt between November and February to avoid the extreme heat of the summer months.

  2. Explore the Local Cuisine

Egyptian cuisine is a delightful mix of flavors influenced by various cultures over the centuries. Our CEO recommends trying traditional dishes like koshari (a lentil and rice dish), falafel, and freshly baked bread. Don’t forget to sip on a cup of traditional Egyptian tea!

Egypt is a destination that offers something for everyone, from history enthusiasts to beach lovers. With the right itinerary, insider tips, and expert guidance, travel agents can ensure their clients have an unforgettable experience in this remarkable country. Whether they’re exploring the ancient wonders of Cairo, cruising down the Nile, or relaxing by the Red Sea, Egypt is sure to leave a lasting impression.
